Bronze Foundry Art Fundation is deeply invested in the promotion and education of bronze casting art, serving as an educational hub for artists and the wider community.
We offer training to refine casting techniques, provide a platform for artists to collaborate and display their work, and organize events to engage a broader audience. As such, we play a pivotal role in the artistic and cultural development of our community, cultivating a new generation of skilled bronze casting artists and fostering a greater appreciation for this art form.
The renowned Cuban-American artist, Ciro Quintana, made a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas to witness in person his newly installed piece in the permanent exhibition room. This room houses the Bronze Sculpture Collection of the Bronze Art Foundry Foundation. Quintana's sculpture was modeled in November 2023, with the final molds completed by the end of January 2024. The piece was cast in early February and has been on display since the beginning of March. The distinguished artist's work is now available for admiration on the mezzanine of the MoCAA's temporary exhibition room. A brief biography of this extraordinary artist and details of the sculptural piece can be found on the Bronze Art Foundry Foundation's website, as well as on the museum's official site.
In light of the arrival of his bronze sculpture 'The End,' based on his work 'Pinocchio,' a 2023 cardboard piece, the renowned Cuban artist residing in Madrid, Esterio Segura, visited the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas. In addition to his involvement in the Legacy Bronze program, Segura will also participate in the Hands on Clay program activities, creating a new series of ceramic works based on his usual iconography. The Fine Arts Ceramic Center will actively participate in the conception and production of this new series, allowing the artist to use their facilities, equipment, and resources
The Bronze Art Foundry Foundation is among the creative programs of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas. In mid-January 2024, the museum's leadership team made a trip to New Orleans to meet with the renowned Cuban-American artist Luis Cruz Azaceta. At the time of reporting, the museum had already produced two of the three works planned to be created by the artist, both sponsored and produced by the Museum. A third is under production at the Foundation's workshops. This last sculpture is a three-dimensional interpretation of a canvas created by the artist in 2022, which is part of the MoCA-Americas collection.
